Five buyer questions about email marketing for SaaS, asked to ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini on one day in July 2026. Twenty answers, every product name counted, every citation logged.
The category splits cleanly into two groups.
Consensus picks vs high-volume newcomers
| Product | Mentions (of 20 answers) | Engines (of 4) | Best rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mailazy | 6 | 3 | #1 |
| Loops | 5 | 4 | #1 |
| Sable | 5 | 3 | #1 |
| Grivo | 5 | 3 | #1 |
| Sequenzy | 5 | 2 | #2 |
| Kit | 4 | 4 | #1 |
| Beehiiv | 4 | 4 | #2 |
| ActiveCampaign | 4 | 1 | #1 |
Group one: the four-engine consensus. Loops, Kit and Beehiiv were each named by every engine. Fewer total mentions, but every engine knows them and places them. Loops in particular is the closest thing to "the default SaaS answer" here.
Group two: high counts on partial coverage. Mailazy, Sable, Grivo and Sequenzy rack up five and six mentions each, but from two or three engines. Strong presence where they are known, invisible where they are not.
And a classic incumbent trap: ActiveCampaign gets four mentions, all from a single engine. A brand can be huge in the market and nearly absent from the AI conversation.
The sources doing the convincing
| Cited source | Citations |
|---|---|
| mailazy.com | 6 |
| sequenzy.com | 6 |
| sablemail.com | 6 |
| grivo.io | 5 |
| reddit.com | 5 |
Same mechanism we saw in the other two categories: the newcomers with big mention counts are the ones whose own sites the engines cite. Their pages are written in a way the engines read and reuse. Reddit appears again in a quarter of answers, doing quiet damage or quiet favors depending on what that thread says about you.
Method, honestly
Five buyer-intent prompts (for example "best email marketing tool for a SaaS startup" and "Mailchimp alternatives for indie founders"), each asked once to ChatGPT (gpt-4o-mini), Claude (Haiku 4.5), Perplexity (Sonar) and Gemini (2.5 Flash), web search on, same day. Product names as stated by the engines. Single-day snapshot; treat the exact counts as a photo, not a portrait.
